Vandrelysten – Aching for the Distance
I do not think the Unesco list is the end-all, be-all, definitive list of what’s worth seeing. I have often seen amazing and fascinating things that I can’t believe haven’t made the list, and, more rarely, I’ve been disappointed by some of the things that are. My goal is not so much to visit every world heritage site in the world (there’s enough that it would take a dedicated, well funded lifetime, and some are next to impossible for tourists to visit) – but rather just to enjoy stumbling upon them, counting them, and sometimes even using the list as my first point of reference when planning a new trip.
